Project Description

Annie Savage is a renowned and passionate performer and teacher. We are extremely fortunate to bring her on board this year as the novice to intermediate fiddle instructor. Her immense knowledge of Bluegrass music, combined with years of both teaching and performing, make Annie a world-class act and powerful force in the acoustic music world.

Annie has been acknowledged by her peers as an acclaimed music academic, having received her Bachelors degree from The Berklee School of Music, her Masters of Music Education from the University of Colorado Boulder, and her Doctorate Candidacy of Music from the University of Iowa. Wow! But don’t let the letters after her name intimidate you. Annie is a warm and caring instructor, charming and supportive. Annie is versed in many instruments, and an excellent singer. As such, she will be participating in harmony workshops as well as inspiring our budding fiddlers.

Novice/Intermediate Fiddle

Our novice to intermediate fiddle classic will focus on developing your current technique and expanding your repertoire of fun fiddle tunes commonly played in jams. The goal is to make your playing more fluid, and build your musical confidence so you are more comfortable playing in a group setting with other instruments. Bringing a recording device will probably be helpful for most students, but more importantly a willingness to dig in and start playing.
